THE START OF A BLOG... what??

I wanted to start a series of diary entries of sorts, in order to keep a living documentation of my process and journey as an artist. I want to keep track of the moments I help create, discoveries I stumble upon, and failures I run into. I will keep a running list of experiences I have during show processes, as both an artist and as a contractor/ employee. I will write about fixtures, how they work, improvements that could be made, and functionality it lacked. I will discuss my favorite gels, color combos, and big ideas for stories. I might share renderings. I wonder if you can have folders on here, as well as a view to see posts in order... I will share joys as an artist, inspirations from others, fears about the industry, and a wide spectrum of emotions. I will share frustrations, both with the industry and with myself. Learning is a hard process because it often requires failure when trying something new to learn how to do something expertly.

I think I will share my favorite music and disposable film photos I take.

I want to tell stories, and while light is the medium I feel the most comfortable in doing so, expanding my reach of knowing humanity in a multitude of ways is deeply interesting to me. I yearn to be able to convey my lens on the world through what I see, hear, and feel.

I aim to explore my grief and sorrows through my words and ideas, rather than let them fester inside.

I am a lighting designer, but more importantly, I am a human being. I am a very flawed human being. I mess up, I learn, and every day I am better because of it.
